About EpiLab

EpiLab provides expert consultation services to a variety of public and private clients in the areas of public health, laboratory practice, epidemiology, and global health. EpiLab Consulting was founded by John Pfister in 1996. John received a B.S. in Medical Microbiology and an M.S. in Preventive Medicine-Epidemiology with post-graduate work in Population Health Sciences, all at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked for the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene from 1983 until his retirement in 2011: as a Microbiologist, a Technical Supervisor, an Administrative Manager, and a Research Scientist and Epidemiologist. He has been involved with the Global AIDS Program in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) since 2001, primarily assisting with international laboratory quality assurance improvement initiatives and strategic planning development. John has also conducted extensive analysis of reproductive health data for Health Care Education and Training (HCET- Madison, WI and Indianapolis, IN) while on staff as an epidemiologist/data analyst, and as an external consultant.
